How do you find used-oil drop-off locations?

Find used oil drop-off locations at Search.Earth911.com or AutoZone.com. Search.Earth911.com allows you to search your area for places that recycle certain types of oils and oil-contaminated products, while AutoZone.com features a store locator tool allowing you to find an AutoZone store near you. As of 2015, 95 percent of AutoZone locations accept user motor oil for recycling.

At Search.Earth911.com, type "oil" in the search box near the top of the main page, and then select an item on the drop-down menu, such as cooking oil, motor oil, motor oil containers or oil filters. Type your ZIP code in the Near box, and then click the Search button to display a listing. Click a listing to display location information, such as the address, phone number, and types and quantities of items or material that the location accepts.

At AutoZone.com, click the Store Locator link beneath the AutoZone Stores heading near the bottom of the main page. Type your ZIP code in the ZIP Code box near the top-right of the page, and then click the Submit button to display a list of locations near you. Click the Map and Hours link in a listing for the store's hours of operation. Consider calling the store first; not all AutoZone locations accept used motor oil.
