Does using hydrogen peroxide on eczema help?

Using hydrogen peroxide on eczema does not help prevent symptoms. However, there are several other treatments that do help, including medications, moisturizers and nondrug treatments, reports WebMD. Over-the-counter oral antihistamines and hydrocortisone ointment often help mild cases of eczema.
For severe cases of eczema, physicians prescribe oral corticosteroids or moisturizers, such as EpiCeram and Mimyx, notes WebMD. Prescription drugs are only used when necessary due to the side effects, states Mayo Clinic.
Counseling may help relieve stress for those who are facing frustrations from their skin condition. Nondrug treatments include reducing stress levels, getting regular exercise, using a humidifier and taking short, warm showers, says WebMD.
