Does using metformin increase the odds of pregnancy?
By Forinfos - 20/03/2026 - 0 comments
Trial studies have shown that metformin increases the number of ovulations, thereby increasing the odds of pregnancy, according to PubMed Health. However, these studies did not show a significant increase in birth rate.
According to PudMed Health, metformin has limited benefits. An analysis of the trial studies shows that women taking metformin and clomiphene were able to conceive slightly more frequently than those who only took clomiphene. However, there was also an increase in miscarriages with the combination of these two prescription drugs.
There are also some side effects associated with taking metformin, as with any drug. These include nausea, vomiting and indigestion.
