Which utensils are appropriate to use when dining in Thailand?
By Forinfos - 16/04/2025 - 0 comments
Unlike many countries in eastern Asia where chopsticks serve as the primary dining utensil, Thai people tend to use spoons and forks. In Thailand, spoons are the primary means of transporting food from the plate to the mouth; forks are there to help push food onto the spoon.
Though Thai tables do have utensils that are familiar to Western diners, they usually don't have knives. Due to the way most food is prepared in Thailand, knives aren't really necessary for most meals. Chopsticks may be used for certain noodle dishes, but this is a seldom occurrence.
