The valve settings on a Kohler engine, namely the intake and exhaust valve settings, differ in different Kohler engine models. The air cooled horizontal crankshaft single overhead valve engine settings are 0.1 millimeter intake and 0.1 millimeter exhaust.
Additionally, the air cooled vertical crankshaft single OHV engine settings are 0.127 mm intake and 0.178 mm exhaust, whereas the air cooled vertical crankshaft V-Twin OHV engine settings are 0.101 mm intake and 0.152 mm exhaust. The air cooled horizontal crankshaft single engine settings are 0.1 to 0.2 mm intake and 0.25 to 0.40 mm exhaust. Some Kohler engines have hydraulic valves that adjust on their own and do not need to be set.
