What is vegan makeup?

Vegan makeup is makeup that does not contain any ingredients that come from animal sources and is not tested on animals during development. Vegan makeup does not contain beeswax, carmine or lanolin, animal products that are in many non-vegan cosmetics.

Vegans abstain from eating or using any products that cause harm to animals. In addition to not eating meat, dairy or eggs, vegans also avoid eating honey, gelatin and food colorings obtained from animal sources. Vegans do not wear clothing, shoes or accessories constructed of wool, silk or leather. This practice extends to cosmetics, skin and hair care products, and household cleaners.
