What is Velocity Credit Union?

Velocity Credit Union is a locally focused financial institution located in Austin, Texas. Members must live in one of five eligible counties or within a 10-mile radius of any Velocity branch or ATM. Having a relative who is a member or being part of a sponsoring organization also grants eligibility.

The five eligible counties of residence are Bastrop, Travis, Williamson, Hays and Caldwell. Once membership is granted, it is retained for life even if the member moves away from the area. In addition, Velocity has over 100 sponsors who are mostly based in Austin and whose employees are automatically eligible for membership. Some examples are Capital Metro Transit and the Paramount Theater Association.
