Venus is considered a terrestrial planet, which means it is has a solid surface made of rocks. The atmosphere is comprised mainly of nitrogen, carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid.
The atmosphere on Venus is very thick and is considered toxic to humans. Venus is the second planet from the sun, and temperatures can climb to a scorching 900 degrees Fahrenheit, making life impossible. Venus rotates opposite of the other planets, which means the sun rises and sets in the opposite direction as it does on Earth. Since Venus rotates very slowly, a typical day on the planet lasts about 243 Earth days.
