Where is Victoria Falls?

Victoria Falls is situated on the Zambezi River in southern Africa and forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989, Victoria Falls is known as one of the most majestic and the largest curtain of falling water in the world.

The thundering water originated from the tip of the large plateau of the upper Zambezi River. It has a width of 1,708 meters, and the water plunges down the Victoria Falls at a height of 108 meters. The falls deposits up to 500 liters per minute of water into a transverse chasm. The falls has been slicing through the basalt plateau and into several gorges for over 2 million years.
