The country of Vietnam is located in Southeast Asia. It is bordered by China to the north, Cambodia to the west and Laos to the east.

Bordered by three bodies of water, Vietnam features 2,140 miles of coastline. Vietnam is bordered by the Gulf of Tonkin to the east, the South China Sea to the south and the Gulf of Thailand to the west. The geographic coordinates of Vietnam are 16 10 N and 107 50 E. Vietnam has a total area of 193,377 square miles. It is slightly larger than the state of New Mexico in the United States.
