Vintage Petroleum Inc. was an oil company based in the United States. It was acquired by Occidental Petroleum Corp., better known as Oxy, in 2005 and is now a subsidiary of that company.
Vintage Petroleum was based in Tulsa, Okla., and had oil fields in Argentina and California as well as assets in the Gulf Coast and East Texas. At the time, Occidental was a much larger company than Vintage. Occidental acquired Vintage for $20 in cash and 0.42 share of Occidental stock for each Vintage share. The Vintage name is still used in lease agreements in the United States.
