The New York Stock Exchange doesn't allow the general public to visit the trading floor because of security concerns, as of 2015. The NYSE does allow college-level educational groups to book guided tours during trading hours, according to the Intercontinental Exchange.
Visitors to Wall Street can tour the Federal Hall National Memorial, which is near the NYSE, notes the National Park Service. The memorial is the historic site where President George Washington took his first oath of office in 1789. Tourists who wish to learn more about U.S. monetary policy can take a free tour of the Federal Reserve Bank. Visitors can book tours up to 30 days in advance, the bank advises.
