Do wasps make honey?

Wasps do not make honey. Wasps are, however, closely related to honey bees, which do make honey. Bees feed on nectar and pollen, and they store the excess as honey. Wasps are primarily predators and feed on other insects.

Both bees and wasps can sting and inject venom. Bees can only sting once because the act of stinging kills them. Wasps can sting repeatedly.

There are many different species of wasp. Some wasps, such as yellow jackets and hornets, live in large colonies, but most wasps live alone. Solitary wasps use their stingers to capture prey, and social wasps use their stingers to defend their nests.
