What is a water cooled air conditioner?

By Forinfos - 09/03/2026 - 0 comments

A water-cooled air conditioner takes stress off the compressor by using water vapor to remove heat from the refrigerant. Commercial buildings typically use this technology in their split-system air conditioning systems, but residential units are also available. Water-cooled air conditioners are usually towers and are often referred to as chillers.

The compressors in air conditioners generally produce a lot of heat, which is counterproductive to the cooling process. A water-cooled air conditioner works by spraying misted water over the condenser coils to cool them down. This type of air conditioner uses less electricity than an air-cooled model, making it both energy efficient and cost effective.
