Is The Water Project a non profit organization?

The Water Project is registered as a non-profit organization. It is, in fact, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Its focus is in sub-Saharan Africa, bringing sustainable water projects to those living in that region. The organization trains and equips local organizations to help further its mission.

Employees and volunteers of the Water Project can be found digging wells, catching rain, constructing dams and protecting fresh water springs throughout Africa. Earlier projects were funded in India, Cameroon and Haiti. The organization also assists people in these areas with proper hygiene and sanitation techniques so they can continue to have access to clean and safe water.
