Does waxing cause pimples?

Waxing can sometimes cause a breakout of pimples on the affected area of the skin, according to New Beauty. Pimples may occur from the heat of the wax or the ingredients in the wax or products used after waxing.
Waxing removes the top superficial layer of the skin leaving pores open to the wax along with any lotions, creams and soothing agents that touch that area of the skin, which can lead to pimples.
If waxing does cause pimples, treating the affected area with a mild cleanser immediately after waxing and then leaving it bare of makeup and other products for one day is a suggested remedy. A mild hydrocortisone cream can also be used after waxing to soothe the skin and prevent pimples.
