Is there a way to look up inmates on Rikers Island?

The New York City Department of Correction provides a lookup tool where online users can search for inmates currently detained on Rikers Island and other facilities. Rikers Island is the main jail complex of NYC and houses other detention centers.

To find inmates on Rikers Island, visit the NYC Department of Corrections and click Inmate Lookup, just under Inmate Information on the home page. Click Look Up Inmate and provide either the name of the inmate or the NYSID, book number or case number. Under Booking Information, click the hyperlinked current housing facility to check whether the detention center is within Rikers Island or is part of other facilities managed by the NYC DC.
