Adding an antiquing glaze distresses kitchen cabinets, giving them an antique feel. Clean the cabinets first, and allow them to dry completely. Next, use painters' tape to protect the walls around the cabinets from the glaze.
Using sand paper, go over the cabinets, and expose the wood underneath the paint, paying special attention to the edges and corners. On a soft cotton rag, apply the antiquing glaze in small amounts in a circular motion. Once the cabinet is covered, use a clean area of the rag to smooth out the circles. After the glaze dries for 24 hours, apply a clear coat to protect the glazing.
