What are some ways to get rid of silverfish?

Some ways to get rid of silverfish are sprays, traps, mothballs and lavender oil. Certain foods, such as cucumbers and spices, can also be used to deter silverfish. Chemical sprays such as Raid are commonly available, but nonorganic sprays that are citrus scented also work well.

Lavender oil and mothballs are effective because silverfish do not like the smell, so it repels them. Silverfish live in damp, moist areas, so they can be trapped by rolling up a moistened newspaper, holding it together with elastic and leaving it overnight. Other insect traps, such as sticky paper, can be effective as well.
