As of 2015, you can stop the delivery of your mail for up to 30 days by completing the Hold Mail Service form at USPS.com. You can also visit your local post office to complete a Hold Mail Service form in person.

The United States Postal Service allows customers to schedule hold mail service up to 30 days in advance, and each address can only have one hold mail scheduled at a time. When you complete a Hold Mail Service form, all of the mail arriving at your address is held, not just the mail for one individual.

When you return home, the postal carrier can deliver your accumulated mail, or you can choose to pick up the mail at your local post office.
