What are some ways to treat puffy eyes?

Adjusting sleeping habits, cooling down the eyes, trying eye creams and controlling allergy symptoms may heal puffy eyes, but the condition may require medical intervention. Cutting back on salt, not smoking and keeping alcohol consumption light can prevent the condition.

Sleeping with the head slightly elevated and getting more sleep may help, but if morning puffiness persists, a cool compress can reduce the swelling. A cool washcloth, an ice pack, cucumber slices or any cool object may relieve puffiness when applied for a few minutes with light pressure.
