What are some well-ranked medical schools in the US?

Rankings for medical schools in the United States are broken down into two specialties: research and primary care. For research, as of 2015, the top three schools are Harvard, Stanford and Johns Hopkins.

For primary care, the top three medical schools are the University of Washington, the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the University of California-San Francisco. Each year U.S. News & World Report issues rankings for over 100 medical schools in the United States. The rankings are based on a variety of factors such as how selective the schools are in admitting students and the amount of research activity that goes on at the various schools.
