What is the Western Union MoneyWise prepaid card?

The Western Union MoneyWise Prepaid Debit Card was a reloadable card that allowed customers to store money for use in electronic transactions, according to NerdWallet. The card featured no activation fee, no monthly fees, a $1.95 balance inquiry fee and a deposit or reload fee of $4.95 per transaction.

The Consumers Union reported in Nov. 2014 that Western Union has discontinued the MoneyWise Prepaid Debit Card. Western Union now offers the NetSpend Prepaid MasterCard, which was rated by the Simple Dollar as a top prepaid debit card pick for 2016. NetSpend lets consumers load paychecks to the card balance through direct deposit with no fees, according to the Simple Dollar.
