World War II was won by the Allies, which consisted of the United States, Britain, Australia, France, China, the Soviet Union and Canada. There were other countries involved in the defeat of the Axis alliance, however, the Allies played the most important role.
Although World War II spanned 6 years, in 1945 the Axis alliance suffered a devastating defeat. The Axis alliance consisted of Germany, Japan and Italy. There were other affiliate countries, however, these countries formed the primary alliance. World War II plays a key role in human history. The defeat of Nazi Germany resulted in an increase in the commitment to humanistic values, rule of law, morality and international convention.
