Where in the world is Egypt located?

Egypt is in northern Africa, in the northeasternmost part of the continent. It is bordered by Libya to the west, the Mediterranean Sea to the north, Sudan to the south and Israel, Jordan and the Red Sea to the east.

Saudi Arabia is also a neighbor of Egypt, just across the Red Sea. The Sinai Peninsula, which is located in the northeastern part of Egypt, provides a natural bridge to southwest Asia. Egypt is included in the region known as the Middle East. The Nile River runs through Egypt, and most of the country's major population centers are located along it. The latitude and longitude of Egypt's capital city, Cairo, is 30° 06' N and 31° 25' E.
