What is the world's fastest production motorcycle?

As of November 2014, the Lightning LS-218 is the fastest production motorcycle in the world. The electric bike can reach speeds of more than 200 miles per hour.

Created by Lightning Motorcycles, the bike features a liquid-cooled, 200-horsepower engine with 168 lb-ft of torque. It also contains a direct drive system which eliminates the need for a transmission or clutch. The LS-218 weights slightly less than 500 pounds and has a variety of battery pack options. The bike is named after the highest speed it reached during various manufacturer tests. Additional options and accessories are offered with the purchase of the bike, such as chrome forks.
