Where did Jesus preach the Sermon on the Mount?

Historians believe that Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount at the Mount of Beatitudes, located in northwest Israel on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. The Sermon of the Mount is described in the Book of Matthew, chapters 5-7. In his sermon, Jesus lists what is known as the Beatitudes.

The Mount of Beatitudes has been accepted as the possible site for the Sermon of the Mount for more than 1,600 years. A Roman Catholic Franciscan chapel is located on the site. Other possible locations suggested as the place for the Sermon of the Mount include the Horns of Hattin and Mount Arbel.
