What is the etheric plane?

The etheric plane is a theoretical plane of existence. Members of many "New Age" groups believe it exists alongside the physical plane, which is considered the home of most living beings.

Depending on the school of thought to which a person subscribes, the etheric plane may also refer to the astral or ethereal plane, a level of existence in which thought and energy have form. While no scientific evidence has proved the reality of this multidimensional universe construct, many groups continue to hold it as a mainstay of their beliefs. The Hindu faith and some circles within the Christian Rosicrucian belief system are among these groups.
