The North American P-51B Mustang and the Focke-Wulf Fw190 are two airplanes used in World War II. While the former is an USAF plane, the latter served Luftwaffe pilots.
The P-51B Mustang is one of the most famous fighter aircraft of World War 2. Carrying a British Rolls-Royce Merlin engine in an American body, the P-51 is able to fly as fast as 440 mph. Excluding the pilot, the aircraft weighs 6,985 pounds and has a range of 1,300 miles. The P-51B can hold four machine guns and 2,000 pounds of explosives.
In comparison, the Fw 190 has a 14-cylinder BMW 801 engine. It's slower than the P-51B with a top speed of 408 mph. The plane weights 7,055 pounds when empty and has a range of 560 miles. The aircraft is capable of carrying two machine guns and up to eight cannons.
