Is WorldVentures a scam?

As of 2015, there is no definitive proof that WorldVentures is a scam, however, there are multiple public complaints about the company, according to the Better Business Bureau. As a multi-level marketing business, its pay structure is represented by a pyramid, so many people associate it with a pyramid scheme.

Multi-level marketing, or MLM, businesses function primarily through recruiting independent sales representatives and secondarily by the sales generated by the sales representatives. MLMs are marketed as a way for people to run their own businesses, and as such, the sales reps are often required to purchase or buy into the business. Common examples include Avon, Herbalife and Amway.
