According to the American Institute of CPAs' Statement on Standards for CPE programs, sponsored learning programs earn one CPE credit per 50 minutes of program length, rounded down to the nearest half credit. Self-study programs are based on time for reading at 180 words per minute and the number of review questions/exercises performed multiplied times 1.85. These two totals are added, and the sum is divided by 50 to determine credits, with the total being rounded down as well.
