Who invented hockey?

James Creighton was born on June 12, 1850, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Creighton was a figure skating judge in Montreal, Canada. During this time, he organized informal hockey games at the skating rink and participated in the first recorded indoor ice hockey game on March 3, 1875. Creighton has been deemed “the father of organized hockey” and was inducted into the Nova Scotia Sport Hall of Fame in 1993.
