Students often learn about mean, median and mode together. All of these are a form of averages and they are common in pre-statistics courses. The median describes the middle value in a set of numbers. To determine the median, write all numbers in numerical order and find the number in the center. Mode is the most frequent number in a set. If there is a repeat of a number, that is the mode, if there is no repeat, there is no mode.
