MAP Math games are grouped by RIT level. The available levels are below 161, 161-170, 171-180, 181-190 and 191-200, as well as 201-210, 211-220, 221-230, 231-240 and 241 and above. Students below 161 may only play the number sense game, but the number of available games increases for students at higher levels. "Catch 10," "Count the Ants," "Miro on the Move" and "Alien Addition" are available at the lowest level. Games such as "Area of a Parallelogram" and "Prime Factorization" are only available at the highest level.
Do you have to be able to calculate percentages to get a GED?

A formula reference sheet is provided on the day of the test and includes common mathematical formulas, such as the formula for a circumference of a circle. Test takers can use a calculator for most parts of the Mathematical Reasoning section of the GED, but hand-held and embedded-screen calculators are not allowed for the first five math questions.
What are some methods for comparing rational numbers?

A rational number is any number that can be represented as a fraction in which both the numerator and the denominator are integers. Irrational numbers are often created by imperfect roots and terms like pi or the Euler number. Irrational numbers have non-repeating, non-terminating decimals.\nIf both numbers are integers, a comparison is usually straightforward. For example, if the rational numbers are 4 and 6, a relation that compares them could be written as 4 < 6. Similarly, on a number line that increases by one from left to right, 6 would be placed two spaces to the right of 4.\nIf the num..
What are some examples of the squeeze theorem?

Here are two examples of the Squeeze theorem:\nPeter always works the same or more hours than John. Peter always works the same or fewer hours than Cindy. John worked 10 hours yesterday. Cindy worked 10 hours yesterday. How many hours did Peter work yesterday?\ng(x) = hours John works\nh(x) = hours Cindy works\nf(x) = hours Peter works.\nWhere a = yesterday,\nlim g(x)= 10 hours\nx?a\nlim h(x) = 10 hours\nx?a\nTherefore,\nlim f(x) = 10 hours\nx?a\nPeter worked 10 hours yesterday.\nTrisha always runs at the same or a faster pace than Sheila. What is the equation "sin x squared"?
- By Forinfos

The equation "sin x squared" uses the trigonometric function sine, which is defined as a ratio between particular sides of a right triangle. In the equation, x represents the value of an angle expressed in either degrees or radians. The sine function, along with the cosine and tangent functions, is commonly used in geometry. They can be evaluated manually or with a calculator.
What does "y = mx + b" stand for?

The y intercept is found by examining where the line intercepts the y axis. The slope of the line is found by dividing the change in "y" values by the change in "x" values. Another way slope is described is "rise over run." This version of an equation of a straight line is also referred to as the "slope-intercept" form.
What are some ways to learn front end estimation with adjustment?

Front end estimation starts with only using the largest place value of a number. For example, a front end estimation of 413+289+190 is worked as 400+200+100=700. Front end estimation with adjustment rounds each number before adding them, so the same problem is worked as 400+300+200=900. This is a closer estimate of the actual sum 892.\nStudents first practice front end estimation without adjustment. In separate exercises, they round numbers. Then they combine the two skills to obtain more accurate estimates.
What is the difference between sensitivity vs. specificity?

Any medical test that is conducted within the research field is adjusted toward the two options. A test that is structured to be highly sensitive is geared toward determining the actual number of people infected by a particular disease during an outbreak. Specificity is geared in determining the actual number of people free of the disease.\nThe two tests are used in the epidemiological field to assess the strength of the test used. Sensitivity is given by the following formula:\nSensitivity = TP/TP+FN, where TP means true positive, and FN means false negative. Sensitivity in a medical test giv..
What is the difference between a cube and a cuboid?

A cuboid shape has three pairs of rectangular faces placed opposite of each other. Opposite faces are exactly the same. Two of the six faces of a cuboid shape can be squares. Cuboids are also called right prisms, rectangular parallelepipeds and rectangular boxes. The volume of a cuboid is described by the formula "a*b*c" where "a," "b" and "c" are the lengths of each side. The surface area of a cuboid is "2(a*b + b*c + c*a)" where each letter is a side length.\nA cube is a Platonic solid also known as a regular hexahedron. The surface area of a cube is delineated by the formula "6*a^2," where ..

Count the number of digitsStarting from the right, count the number of digits beginning with the number 0. The number 427 would be numbered 210.Multiply each digit by 8 to a powerThe next step is to multiply each individual digit by 8 to the power of that digit's place in the number. For example, if you want to convert the number 427 base 8 to decimal, you will arrange the conversion like so: (4 * 8^2) + (2 * 8^1) + (7 * 8^0).Add the products of each digitThe next step is to multiply each individual digit and then add the products together: 256 + 16 + 7 = (279)base 10. Thus, the answer wo..
