Graceful chameleons live in forest areas and prey on invertebrates which they catch with their extensile tongues. They are diurnal and hunt in the early morning and late afternoon. They grow up to 15 inches in length. In captivity, a graceful chameleon does best in a 55- to 75-gallon tank with good ventilation, a water drip and plenty of things for it to climb on. It needs 90 percent humidity or higher and daytime temperatures of 64 to 73 degrees Fahrenheit. It eats crickets, fruit flies, meal worms and other insects, but do not give a pet chameleon wild-caught insects.
