When should you change your tires?

One easy way to check the tread depth on tires is to use a penny. Take the penny and insert it in the tread groove facing down. If all of Lincoln's head on the penny is visible, it is time to replace the tires. Good tread depth measures 1/8th of an inch" or more. Above 1/16th of an inch means that the tires will need replacing soon.

Contamination of the anti-lock brake system sensors by debris damages the sensors’ wiring, leading the system to work intermittently. A damaged brake system provides false feedback to the car’s brake system controller, causing the anti-lock system to activate when it should not or to deactivate when it should. Corrosion of the brake’s master cylinder causes its piston seals to leak. Such leakage reduces the reserve pressure and causes the pump to overwork. Ultimately, the pump burns out and fails after running continuously.
