Elijah warns Ahab of a multi-year drought. The Lord tells Elijah to go east, where he resurrects the son of the widow of Zarephath. Elijah then returns to confront Ahab over worshipping the false god Baal. He proves the power of Yahweh on Mount Carmel, orders the deaths of the prophets of Baal and prays for rain to return. Elijah then flees to Mount Horeb to escape Jezebel's wrath. God sends out Elijah again, and he encounters Ahab and Ahab's son Ahaziah. Elisha succeeds Elijah as prophet after Elijah departs.

The sole use of the name Lucifer is found in Isaiah 14:12 where it refers to someone who has "fallen from heaven." Though Satan was cast out of Heaven, the name Lucifer actually refers to the king of Babylon who is the subject of most of that chapter. Because Babylon is east of the Levant, it would be entirely understandable to refer to its king as the morning star.
