What is 200 proof ethanol?
By Forinfos - 18/12/2025 - 0 comments
Two hundred proof ethanol is pure ethanol, or pure alcohol; this means there is very little water content in the ethanol. Pure ethanol is not intended to be used for human consumption, but for scientific purposes.
Consuming just a few drops of pure alcohol can raise blood alcohol content to a very dangerous level. The kind of ethanol found commonly in alcoholic beverages is known as ethyl alcohol. The ethanol content in 12 fluid ounces of beer ranges typically from 4 to 6 percent, with an ethanol content of 7 to 15 percent in 5 fluid ounces of wine. Distilled spirits such as whisky, rum, and vodka can have an ethanol concentration of 40 to 95 percent per 1.5 fluid ounces.
