What is 3-D graphing?

Three-dimensional graphing involves making a graph using a three-dimensional coordinate system. Unlike the normal 2-D graph, a 3-D graph tracks three variables named "x," "y" and "z." Each variable has its own axis. A three-dimensional graph is typically drawn on a two-dimensional page using perspective methods.
Three-dimensional graphs show the graph of a function with two variables or the relationship between three variables. The perspective methods of drawing a three-dimensional graph make one of the dimensions appear to come out of the page. Points in three-dimensional space are written (x, y, z), where each letter represents an number along that axis.
