John Romaniello of HealthGuru reports that in his opinion, the Ab Lounge will give you the same results as doing sit-ups with proper form. According to Intense Workout, the Ab Lounge is less effective for abdominal training than most other popular abdominal exercises or exercise machines.

Most abdominal exercises and exercise machines require more effort from the user's abdominal muscles than the Ab Lounge does, according to Intense Workout, so it will provide a less intense workout. The Ab Lounge will also not significantly contribute to loss of body fat around the stomach because no abdominal exercises can do that.
