When was Abraham Lincoln assassinated?

Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 14, 1865. He was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth, who was a local actor and Confederate activist. The assassination took place at Ford's Theater in Washington, D.C. After being shot, Lincoln was in a coma for nine hours before dying the following morning.
