By Forinfos - 22/06/2025 - 0 comments
Acetaminophen is not the same type of medication as aspirin. According to Drugs.com acetaminophen is a pain reliever and fever reducer, while aspirin is a salicylate. Aspirin reduces fever, swelling and substances that cause aches in the body.
Drugs.com recommends consulting a doctor when using these medications. A doctor should be notified of any bleeding disorders, asthma, stomach problems, kidney and liver disease, gout and allergies to best help prescribe medication for the patient. Aspirin and acetaminophen should not be given to children who are experiencing fever, flu or chickenpox, says Drugs.com. Those taking acetaminophen and aspirin should avoid drinking alcoholic beverages.
