Which acid is used in car batteries?
By Forinfos - 06/06/2025 - 0 comments
Car battery acid consists of 30 to 50 percent sulfuric acid in water with a mole fraction of 29 percent sulfuric acid. The density of the acid is about 1.25 kilograms per liter, and the pH level is about 0.8.
Car battery acid is a very volatile and dangerous substance. If you need to replace a car battery, make sure to wear the proper safety gloves and goggles. If the method to replace the battery is not known, seek the help of a professional mechanic. Do not dispose of the car battery with normal trash because the acid wreaks havoc in landfills and can potentially poison the water supply.
