What is an activated alumina deflouridation filter?
By Forinfos - 07/09/2025 - 0 comments
An activated alumina defluoridation filter is a water filtering device used to remove fluoride from water. It removes fluoride by absorption and is used in areas where fluorosis is present. Fluorosis is an overexposure to fluoride that results in changes in the appearance of the tooth.
The removal of fluoride by activated alumina is dependent on several factors in the water, including pH levels, water hardness and the presence of other elements, such as silicon and boron. Activated alumina is also used as a commercial desiccant and in gas drying processes. It is a granular, porous material made up of aluminum trihydrate.
