The principle actors of the cast of the show "Fernwood Tonight" were Martin Mull as Barth Gimble, Fred Williard as Jerry Hubbard, Frank De Vol as Happy Kyne and Tommy Tedesco as Tommy Marinucci. Additional supporting cast members included Eddie Robertson as Eddie Thomerson and Kenneth Mars as William Prize.

"Fernwood Tonight," created by Normal Lear, followed the Barth Gimble and Jerry Hubbard, producers of a talk show in the town of Fernwood, Ohio. The show parodied talk shows and their guests. Produced in 1977, the show lasted one season and aired 37 episodes. Actors Mull, Williard and De Vol were the only three performers to appear in every episode.
