What are the advantages of a compact no-till seed drill?

The major advantages of using a no-till drill over tilling the soil are excellent erosion control, moisture preservation and soil structure protection. Using a no-till drill also helps prevent run-off and can increase crop yield as well.
No-till drilling doesn't disrupt the soil structure in the way that tilling does. By keeping the soil structure intact, less soil gets washed away in the process. Not tilling the soil also leaves crop residue on the ground. This residue absorbs moisture and acts as a mulch to increase soil moisture levels. Another advantage of trapping the water is that runoff is lessened.
