Is the African hornet dangerous?
By Forinfos - 05/03/2026 - 0 comments
African hornets keep their stingers after striking a person. This fact, along with their aggressive behavior, means that they can sting an individual more than once. This is especially dangerous for anyone who is allergic to bees, wasps or hornets.
Although there has been a rise in African hornets stinging people, as of 2014, the attacks can be avoided. If someone notices one or more of them in a garden or while hiking, that person should be careful. Disturbing the insect can bring about an attack. If possible, the person should leave the area in which the African hornets are seen.
