What are the age divisions for CYO youth basketball?

For boys, grade 2 is named Biddy, grade 3 is Rookie, grade 4 is Bantam, grade 5 is Small Fry, and grade 6 is Tyro. The age divisions and eligibility requirements for Catholic Youth Organization youth basketball are standardized in CYO leagues across the country.

The names for the female divisions are slightly different. Girls in grade 2 are called Biddy, grade 3 is Novice, grade 4 is Gidget, grade 5 are Cadettes and grade 6 are Debs. The grade 7 boys' and girls' CYO division are both called Junior Varsity. Players in the eighth grade are considered Varsity players in both the boys' and girls' leagues.
