What age group is most likely to vote?

Citizens aged 65 and older are most likely to vote in elections. According to US News, nearly 61 percent of citizens over the age of 65 voted in the November 2010 election.
The second group most likely to vote are those that fall between the ages of 55 and 64. In that same November 2010 election, 54 percent of citizens aged 55 to 64 cast a ballot.
People that are under the age of 45 are much less likely to vote. US News reports that only 37 percent of people aged 25 to 44 made it to the polls to vote in the November 2010 election.
The group least likely to vote, are those age 18 to 24 years, a mere 21 percent of them showed up to vote in 2010.
