Robert Lawrence Stine's "Goosebumps Horrorland" book series is appropriate reading for children from eight to 12 years of age. The "Horrorland" series began its release in 2008, and was a restart of the highly popular "Goosebumps" series published in the 1990s.
The "Horrorland" tales are serialized stories that take place inside an evil amusement park. The first book has the group of kids invited to the park containing wicked attractions, including a werewolf petting zoo, a quicksand beach and bottomless canoes. Famous horror author Stephen King has suggested that the "Goosebumps" book's popularity led the publisher to pursuing J. K. Rawlings Harry Potter stories.
